User-based sites like Yelp list nearly every restaurant, but it’s often hard to tell the good from the bad because their reviews aren’t always reliable. Sources like New York Magazine and Michelin publish dining guides highlighting the “best” restaurants in the New York area, but these yearly lists become frozen in time and don’t account for updated reviews or restaurants that open or close between guides. Also, these “best of” lists are limited, so there are a lot of good places out there that don’t make the cut.
That’s how NYDiningGuide is different. We provide you with a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of the local dining scene. Most importantly, unlike most sites, our ratings aren’t based on user reviews. Instead, this guide lists each restaurant based on the most recent ratings of New York’s most important critics. Each listing includes a star rating, a rough estimate of cost, our special assessment of “value,” and links to reviews, maps, reservations, and Yelp (in case you actually want to see what everybody thinks). We hope it gives you everything you need to find a great place to dine wherever you find yourself in the City.
