There’s probably not many places you can get a bowl of black Thai noodle soup with blood tipped in in this city. And even if there was an abundance of such eateries, none of them have the feel-good vibe of Plant Love House in Elmhurst. The rules are simple, and plastered on the door for all to see: “Laugh a lot,” “Use kind words” and “Be positive, grateful, truthful.” Ligaya Mishan for the Times visited the Thai restaurant in Queens that specializes in the homey, comforting, non-pretentious Thai street food. All but one dish on the menu is $10. The desserts are young and refreshing. There is coconut ice cream with a raw runny egg yolk tossed in and left to freeze, as well as a deep-fried roti that dribbles with sweetened condensed milk.
