Source: Grub Street NY

As good as a freshly baked croissant larded with a staggering amount of cultured butter is, it may be even better the next day, split in two, dipped in simple syrup, spread with frangipane, reassembled, and rebaked — a persuasive argument for recycling if there ever was one. …

Still, her habits aren’t too virtuous (though …

Will 2015 be the year of the chicken sandwich or the bagel? It’ll be a close call, but as the Robs for Grub Street point out- there has been an  awful lot of bagel buzz around the city. New Yorkers found out that they apparently are a fan of Black Seed’s Canadian-style bagels, and that Russ & Daughters’ bagels and babka still taste good despite now being baked in their newly leased Bushwick production facility. And lets not forget Sadelle’s coming from the Torrisi team. There will be updated takes on tried and true classic flavors such as salt with cracked butcher’s pepper in the dough and Icelandic sea salt coating it, and onion suffused with dehydrated onions, leeks and chives.
