Wild Horse Tavern is bringing some much needed edge to the Upper East Side. The bar’s name is a nod to the Rolling Stones song “Wild Horses,” and like the rock gods it was named after, the bar is representative of all things rock ‘n’ roll…with a touch of the Upper East Side of course. There is a small stage toward the back of the bar where live music plays every Sunday night as well as walls lined with concert shots of Janis Joplin, the Rolling Stones and wild horses to watch over you while you eat chef Max Renny’s expertly crafted, locally sourced bar food. Menu highlights include Bitterballens (beef and gruyere croquettes), BBQ Tete de Cochon, the Reubano sandwich with house made pastrami, and their Eastside Smash Burger topped with double smoked bacon and tomato onion relish.
